This partnership is crucial in enabling NEXTDC’s Technology division to expand its technical capabilities and enhance operational efficiency. Work you will do
We are looking for a proactive People & Culture Business Partner to help, our client, NEXTDC align their HR strategies with their business objectives across Technology teams in Malaysia and Australia. This role involves establishing the technology team, spearheading recruitment, onboarding, and development efforts, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HR practices within the technology sector, excel in driving talent management strategies, and champion NEXTDC values to create a positive and dynamic work environment. Your contributions will be key in attracting and retaining the top talent needed to achieve NEXTDC’s strategic objectives.
In this role, your key responsibilities in supporting NEXTDC’s operations, will include:
- Support the CTO to establish a new Technology Operations Team
- Provide guidance across the entire employee lifecycle including recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, learning and development, retention & reward and managing employment relations for the Technology group.
- Drive the implementation of all strategic P&C initiatives within the Technology group with a focus on engagement and retention, diversity and inclusion and reward and recognition.
- Provide advice, coaching and support to the CTO and wider Technology leadership in employment relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary issues, and formal investigations in accordance with company policies and legislation.
- Provide guidance and support to Technology employees across a range of complex HR related issues and activities.
- Design and implement training programs for continuous learning and professional development tailored to technology roles. Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and mentorship opportunities.
- Ensure HR policy compliance and engage relevant stakeholders to promote workplace culture and engagement.
Requirements
If you are someone with:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organisational Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7 years or more experience in a People & Culture, HR Management or similar role and a proven track record of partnering with senior leaders to drive HR strategies.
- A solution-oriented mindset with experience in supporting technology teams for their HR related needs.
- Eligibility for an Australian business visa.
- Prior experience in People & Culture within the Technology and/or Infrastructure industry is highly desired.
- Prior experience working in a multinational company would be an advantage.
- PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, or equivalent HR certifications are preferred.
- Australian business experience would be well regarded.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of HR principles and practices, particularly within a technology industry.
- Proficiency in HRIS and other relevant software.
- Exceptional knowledge of and experience with Malaysian HR policies.
- Knowledge of Australian HR policies, or a willingness to learn
- Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
Soft Skills
- Excellent English and Malay communication skills, including the ability to write clear, well-structured documents e.g., policies and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the business.
- Proven ability to influence and build strong relationships and credibility with a wide range of stakeholders, especially senior leaders.
- Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and support a multi-geography working environment.
- Ability to adapt and cope effectively with complexity and change, adopting different styles to best partner with key stakeholders.
- Flexible and adaptable to meet deadlines and willingness to work in a growing team.
- A continuous improvement mindset.
This is a hybrid role in line with client’s working policy. Some travel to client’s work locations (including Australia) may be required in certain circumstances and will be jointly agreed with the client and the successful candidate.
