This partnership is crucial in enabling NEXTDC’s Technology division to expand its technical capabilities and enhance operational efficiency. While your initial employment will be with Deloitte, you will focus on providing services to NEXTDC’s Technology division, with the potential for a direct transition to a permanent career with NEXTDC upon successful completion of key project outcomes.

Work you’ll do
We are looking for an experienced Head of Technology Operations to lead and expand our client, NEXTDC’s technology operations team. As a pivotal member of the Technology Leadership team, you will direct diverse teams to deliver critical IT operational services and collaborate with the CTO on strategic initiatives to drive operational excellence.
You should be adept at aligning strategic efforts with broader business goals, enhancing technology operations that support business objectives, and driving growth and transformation. This senior leadership role will also involve providing guidance on managing platform infrastructure, optimising service performance, leading IT security operations, and promoting continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will empower and lead technology operations teams across various service domains, fostering professional development and cultivating a culture that positions NEXTDC as a leader in the industry.
In this role, your key responsibilities in supporting, NEXTDC’s operations, will include:
- Lead and manage the technology operations team, ensuring alignment with NEXTDC’s strategies and objectives.
- Oversee the delivery and continuous improvement of key IT services including End User Computing, Network, Hosting, Database, Security Operations, and other operations services as needed.
- Oversee implementation and execution of NEXTDC’s cybersecurity practices to align with business objectives and address current and emerging threats to enhance the overall security posture.
- Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors to ensure effective delivery of technology services that meet security standards.
- Ensure regular platform maintenance, system performance monitoring, and timely platform upgrades in compliance with standards.
- Ensure availability, performance, and scalability of NEXTDC technology infrastructure systems as per standards.
- Communicate and engage with a wide variety of stakeholders and meet ongoing business needs.
- Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service in the support end users
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across technology operations.
- Manage the capacity and availability of technology infrastructure resources to ensure optimal performance and scalability while minimising downtime.
- Monitor and manage budgets as needed, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for future expansion of services within the Operations Team.
- Support the CTO in delivering the strategic vision for the technology group.
- Represent the technology function within the wider Malaysian leadership team.
- Lead and develop a high-performing technology team, supporting team members with career progression, performance management, and fostering a growth culture.
Requirements
If you are someone with:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or any other related field.
- 15 years or more experience in IT Management or similar roles with experience in network, cloud, and cyber security.
- At least 7 years’ experience in senior leadership, coaching, and management roles.
- Experience working in a multi-national organisation and managing cross-functional and cross-geography teams.
- Eligibility for an Australian business visa.
- Experience establishing new technology operations teams is desirable.
- Prior experience in Operations within the Technology and/or Infrastructure industry is highly desired.
- Post graduate qualifications would be an advantage.
- Australian business experience would be an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, preferably in a multi-national organisation.
- Ability to manage technology operations service delivery across diverse technologies and service domains including (but not limited to) End User Computing, Network, Hosting, Cybersecurity, Database Management, Cloud Operations and SaaS Platforms.
- Skilled at leading technology service delivery, including contract management, service reporting, financial tracking, and forecasting.
- Ability to identify and manage issues, risks, and dependencies.
Soft Skills
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate concepts and ideas clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Mature and self-motivated professional able to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business functional teams.
- Ability to multi-task effectively with strong time management skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to meet deadlines and willingness to work in a growing team.
- A continuous improvement mindset.
This is a hybrid role in line with client’s working policy. Some travel to client’s work locations (including Australia) may be required in certain circumstances and will be jointly agreed with the client and the successful candidate.
