Work you’ll do

Your role and responsibility will be primarily to provide support in fulfilling Anti-money laundering (AML ) / Know Your Customer (KYC) obligations which includes, but not limited to, the following tasks:  

  • Checker Return – Performs checks on all the checker-returned cases on a daily/weekly basis, identifying the root cause of the error. 
  • QC Sampling –  
  • Sample at least 50 calls every week or 5 calls per team member (Specialist, Senior Specialist and Team Lead) to assess the quality of the calls, highlighting any information inaccuracies, poor customer service or deviation from best practices, as per the checklist provided. 
  • Sample at least 30 RFIs every month that have exceeded two emails sent to customers, to determine if there are quality issues such as information requested in piece meal, inaccurate information provided, unclear communication, deviation from SOP, etc. 
  • Log all quality issues observed from Checker Return and QC Sampling into Quality Issues Log. 
  • Compile and run through Quality Issues Log in weekly/monthly team meeting, to go through quality issues with the team and provide education/guidance by clarifying the correct procedures or approach with the team, escalate to the Team Lead on any recurring quality issues made by the same team member. 
  • QA Assessment – Provide coaching to team members who have failed monthly QA assessment, work with the respective Team Leads to ensure team member’s work is checked through before submission. Review team members’ work at the end of the coaching period and assess if quality has been improved. 
  • Monthly QC reporting to client on the quality issues that had occurred in the month and steps taken to mitigate the issue. 
  • Propose amendments to SOP to enhance clarity and improve team’s adherence. 
  • Work with Team Leads in refreshing training deck on a semi-annual basis. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address any performance gaps and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

 

  • A completed undergraduate degree that is relevant to the field e.g. accounting, law, etc. Possessing a professional certification is advantageous.
  • A basic understanding of local, regional or international AML regulatory environment and common money laundering schemes.
  • Senior Associate should have at least 2 years of working experience providing AML, Forensic Accounting, Fraud & Financial Investigations, Business Intelligence, Internal Audit and Compliance consulting services preferably in a consulting, financial, accounting or law institution.
  • Previous experience providing financial crime consulting services to corporate, retail, and / or private banking business units of financial services institutions. You will be comfortable analysing information, as well as drafting and reviewing formal written reports and presenting ideas to small or large groups.
  • A willingness to participate in practice growth and development initiatives. 
  • A demonstrated ability to work in a cohesive team environment. 
  • An ability to identify issues quickly and to present solutions when reporting to your managers. 
  • A strong commitment to professional and client service excellence. 
  • An ability to participate as a team member in client projects daily under partner’s supervision. 
  • A team player with good communication, analytical and report writing skills. 
  • A willingness and ability to travel on short notice.
